Kelburn Castle & Country Centre
Address: Kelburn Estate, Fairlie, Largs KA29 0BE, UK .Based around a 13th Century castle that’s had an amazing makeover courtesy of a team of Brazilian artists, the estate near Largs, Ayrshire also features dramatic walks, breathtaking gardens and many features of historical interest. Kelburn Castle is currently having restoration work carried out. Elements of this project will be concluded later this year and will help preserve the Castle for many years to come. The work includes re-roofing the building and doing internal structural works. The owners have funded this project and received support from Historic Environment Scotland due to the Castle’s historic importance. Some 2000 acres is rough moorland, and 1500 acres of the better land is contained within a 7ft wall that encircles the heart of the estate.
Millport Golf Club
Address: Golf Rd, Isle Of Cumbrae KA28 0HB .This heathland course is situated above the town of Millport. The club was formed in 1888 and at the time was known as The Cumbrae Golf Club. This was later changed to avoid confusion with Comrie Golf Club in Perthshire. In 1913 the well-known golf course architect, James Braid, was invited to lay out the course "to suit the modern game".
The course measures just short of 6000 yards, has a par of 68 with SSS of 69 (Ladies par is 72 with a yardage of 5,228) and demands a full repertoire of shot making - there are several blind shots to test golfers skills. Out of bounds comes into play in the first 7 holes, and at the 2nd out of bounds faces you right and left. Fantastic views over the Firth of Clyde and Islands

A love of the island…and gin, first brought us together, probably in one of Millport’s 5 pubs; certainly, the conversations blossomed during Thursday quiz nights at the Twa Dugs! Our conversations evolved from the general idea for an island distillery to raise funds to support the campaign to save Millport’s historic Town Hall building –a commitment that remains near and dear to us - to the realization that with our collective life experience, skills, enthusiasm, and “why the hell not” attitude, we could be the ones to start up a distillery for the island!On Your Bike Millport
